What is chronic pain?
Chronic pain is any pain that lasts for more than a three-month period. The pain can become progressively worse or reoccur for an extended period of time that goes beyond the standard healing process. Chronic pain can affect both men and women and is often related to low back pain, sports injuries, or arthritic pain. This type of pain can cause a significant decrease in quality of life, both physically and emotionally, as one is limited in their ability to fully function.
Pain Management
Fotona’s advanced technology provides an alternative method to treat and manage pain effectively without the common risks of typical methods like pain medication. While pain medications often lead to addiction and dependency, a Fotona laser treatment is a natural and effective way to reduce or eliminate chronic pain. This treatment is specifically beneficial to those suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis and sports-related injuries. Both men and women suffering from chronic pain can benefit from this treatment.
How does laser treatment help chronic pain?
By applying targeted heat to the muscle tissues and skin, the tissues are loosened allowing the lymphatic fluid to flow easier. With the easier flow of the lymphatic fluid, swelling is reduced which releases tension and pain in the targeted area. The heat also stimulates a healing process through photobiomodulation and the creation of connective tissues to strengthen the area experiencing pain. The Fotona laser has special settings that allow the technician to penetrate heat deeper and more effectively compared to other lasers.
Duration of Treatment
30-60 minutes
What can I expect from the treatment?
Each person is different but during the treatment, you can expect minimal to mild discomfort. Patients can expect some improvement in as little as 1 treatment but should complete a course of 6-8 treatments, with two treatments per week for optimal results. Most patients can resume their daily activities immediately following the treatment.
